"The Bay Ridge Food Co-op (BRFC) brings together friends and neighbors with a common vision for the food on their tables. A first step in accomplishing that vision is to provide access to healthy, sustainable produce through community supported agriculture (CSA). So, we are proud to announce the formation of Yellow Hook CSA.

"Owned and operated by its members, the Bay Ridge Food Co-op will seek to provide quality, wholesome food at the lowest practical cost. It will create easy access to locally grown and organic foods, as well as a wider and more interesting range of delicious products than the options currently available in the neighborhood.

"We provide a direct link between the production and consumption of wholesome food while celebrating a mutually respectful and beneficial partnership between the farmer and consumer.

We care about what we eat and we truly care about what we make for you and your family to enjoy. We carefully select and prepare organically grown produce for you to serve in the comfort of your own home.

"Founded by Louise Bruce and Matthew Burke, Compost for Brooklyn will encourage the sustainable disposal of food scraps and related organic waste in Kensington, Brooklyn. We will transform a vacant lot into a garden, planted with native floral species.

"What is 66 Square Feet About?

It's about gardening in tight spaces. It's about how to live in a tiny apartment with a tiny terrace. It's about friends, and inspiration and blackspot on the roses. It's about food and cooking over an open flame. It's about wine. And water. And watering...And picnics. It's about Brooklyn. And South Africa. It's about seasons without and within. It's about where I go and what I come back to: a terrace twelve-and-three quarters by five-and-a-quarter feet wide."

"Every Saturday (9:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.) from June 5, 2010 - October 30, 2010 at Habana Outpost (757 Fulton Street @ South Portland) CSA members will pick up shares provided by our farmers.

We offer vegetable, fruit, egg, and dairy shares."

"The Brooklyn Beet CSA's first season will run from June 30th - November 10th. Members will be able to pick up their shares between 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the YWCA of Brooklyn at 30 Third Avenue between State Street & Atlantic Avenue.

Each week our shares will contain 6-8 different vegetables."
